If you own a Nintendo DS--- you might want to get Personal Trainer Walking and it comes with an activity meter that you can clip to your pants/skirt or put in the your pockets or carry in your purse --is a great little tool. It's small and discrete and keeps track of your steps in a daily basis. All you have to do at the end of the day take the activity meter sensor and point it to the Ninetendo DS and will show your activity throughout the day and record it for you. You can see your progress for the week or month. Also, you can set your goal steps.
I personally like it because if I am short 500 steps-- I will find a way to accomplish my goal. Keeps me motiviated. I like to see green and happy faces--that is what you will get when you have accomplish your goal for that day. If not, you get red circle. There are two games that you can play if you wish. Walk the World--takes the number of steps you have walked for that day and it starts to draw a picture and the other is Illuminate--brightens up your house with your rhythm for that day.

Walking is gentle, low-impact exercise that we can gradually increase as our fitness levels improve.
Lower LDL, Raises HDL
Lower your blood pressure
Reduce your risk of or manage type 2 diabetes
Improve your mood(it helps relieve stress)
Manage your weight
Stay strong and fit
Always make sure you wear proper walking sneakers. Make sure you are well hydrated before and after you are done your walking.(especially in the summer)
Please when you start--start slow! Start with 15 minutes and increase your time gradually. I have trained many people and I can tell you that if you over do it --YOU WILL GET DISCOURAGED. When I used to train people in weight training and cardio-- men or female- I always started them gradually. If all you have is 15 minutes--then do it.
